In 2005, the centennial celebration for the city of Las Vegas, the celebration theme was “100 Years in Neon”. For their annual corporate incentives party in Chicago we were hired to create an event using their neon icons and the artwork represented on the invitation they gave us. A giant birthday cake dance platform was built for the dance floor. Circular transparent screens created simply animated logos that appeared to float in space. We created a custom projection for the front of the venue including an animated Vegas sign, and a live replication of the invitation. Many new performances were created for the high profile intense event.
The Las Vegas Tourism Board provided us this invitation artwork.
I replicated the invitation at the exterior entrance which included a miniature neon martini prop.
I also had to create an animated ONLY VEGAS logo for the custom video backdrop.
Only Vegas logo animation I built from recording a local liquor stores lights. 😉

An ambient performance element I created referred to as “the tube”. Myself and another performer would move up and down inside a 20′ spandex tube making shapes and formations something like a human lava light.
I created a fiber optic ball which a performer appeared to ride around on over guests.
Secret: the girl was supported separately as the plastic ball was fairly light weight material.
